Title: Executive Director (Full Time)
Status: Exempt
Reports to: Andrews Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors
Position: The Executive Director is responsible and accountable to the Board of Directors to provide executive leadership to the Andrews Chamber of Commerce.
Responsibilities:
- In consultation with the Board of Directors plan long-range policies to help achieve important Chamber/CVB and community goals
- Review projects and proposals to develop and implement plans and objectives for the Chamber/CVB in an effective and innovative fashion.
- Plan and provide annual Board training.
- Track progress and report regularly to the Board of Directors.
- Recruit Members, volunteers and board members for the Chamber.
- Attend training, including out of town training, as needed.
- Be available to work some weekends and holidays as needed.
Personnel Management
- Oversee the management of chamber staff including hiring, firing, performance reviews, salary and benefits administration, policy and general supervision.
- Coach and develop the internal leadership team to attain consistent, highly effective performance.
- Develop and implement continuous improvement initiatives, create better business practices and an organizational structure that will optimize performance and operating results.
- Promote a working environment of excellence, external and internal collaboration and professional standards for the organization.
- Oversee volunteer committees that operate under the Chamber.
Manage the organization’s finances and all property
- With approval of the Budget Committee of the board, develop an annual budget for the Chamber’s operations that delineates projected revenues and expenses and a projected net profit as appropriate.
- Prepare the annual Hotel Occupancy Tax (HOT) budget and submit to the Board for approval. Once approved, submit/present to the City Council for approval.
- Prepare an annual marketing report and end-of-year budget to show City Council how HOT funds were utilized to promote the City throughout the year.
- Lead, direct and develop Chamber’s fundraising strategies and capital campaigns.
- Approve all specific expenditures under the budget adopted by the Board including general office expenditures and general maintenance of Chamber grounds, Means House and RV park.
- Oversee preparation for monthly board meetings by setting agenda, preparing financial statements and all other necessary documents.
- Oversee the record keeping for all Board of Directors meeting documents, including the President signing the official copy of all meeting records.
- Maintain current tags and inspections on trailers.

- Create separate event pages on social media platforms

- Promote membership according to benefit levels

- Oversee preparation for annual audit
- Make copies of all statements for each of the above accounts
- Provide copies of checks written requested by Auditor
- Provide receipts from various accounts requested by Auditor
- Pay tax liabilities monthly, quarterly and annually.
- File 990N for Keep Andrews Beautiful.
- File Sales Tax for Keep Andrews Beautiful.
- Oversee all HOT funds are used according to Hotel/Motel Tax laws.
- Maintain insurance policies for the Chamber.
- Buildings and all other property belongings to the Chamber
- Acquire liability policies for events hosted by the Chamber and organizations that operate under the Chamber:
- Maintain current licensing on software and computers.
- Maintain licensing with BMI to prevent copyright infringements with entertainment/performers at events.
- Reconcile all bank accounts
- Maintain excellent relationships within Local, State and federal government leaders and regional partnerships
- Implement a marketing plan for the chamber to assure a positive community image.
- Any additional duties as assigned by the Board of Directors.

Professional Experience
- Previous Chamber management experience preferred.
- Working knowledge of local, regional and state-level political systems and experience in developing collaborative relationships in these areas.

- Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook)
Education
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university required; or comparable professional training and experience attained through military, industry or association service.
This position requires lifting items weighing up to 50 pounds daily.
